Went in with the intent to purchase a bike. Walked around the showroom for about 10 minutes, and nobody came to help. There were 3 customers (me being one of them) and 6 employees - yes, I took the time to count.
I was in trouble. On a cross-country mission bike trailer tires failed and are non-standard in size. The owner took me under his wing. He drove me to another company to get parts that would work. I asked for none of this. This is a joyful business. It is filled with employees that love what they're doing. These are kind and knowledgeable highly competent people. Go for the parts, go for the bikes, go for the service, go for the joy of the experience.
So I went to another bike shop down the road, got immediate attention, got the help I wanted, and questions answered - and purchased a bike there instead.
I had a wobbly back wheel from something stupid I did and brought it in on Sunday. I was a little concerned that the place would feel pretentious and full of bikes snobs that didn't want to deal with someone who got a bike from Target, but the opposite was true. Everyone involved in the process of getting my back wheel fixed was wonderful. Extremely friendly and reasonably priced I felt. I will definitely get my next bicycle there! Thanks so much Jim!
If you're too busy eating lunch or chatting with your coworkers, then do that in the break room or something similar. A bit disappointing considering all the high marks this place receives.
I would have stuck around if SOMEONE just acknowledged me and asked me if I had been helped, but no luck - kind of odd when there was TWICE as many employees as customers while I was there.
Two of them were too busy eating lunch (it was 1:30 PM on a Saturday afternoon). One employee was working on a bike while another was just chatting with him. What appeared to be an older employee - maybe a manager/owner - looked at me a couple times but did not approach me - he was too busy pouring mustard on his lunch. The last employee was busy at the cash register looking at the computer.
I walked in on a busy Saturday with a blown tire expecting to have to leave the bike there for the day. I got approached by an employee right away who took my bike and said he would give it a look. Within 20 minutes he sold me 2 new tires and a tube installed, checked over the whole bike and had me out the door. Even held the door for me on the way out. Not to mention 2 other employees approached me while the bike was being worked on and asked me if I needed anything. Unparalleled customer service and efficiency, all the employees were friendly and had a smile on their face. Would recommend!
I've always had great experiences here whether I'm buying parts and accessories or getting repairs done. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The store always appears clean and organized. The prices seem fair and of course the location (right near the Gateway trail) can't be beat since this is the trail I ride most often.
